Earlier is better than later.
The strongest predictor of how a season of stress goes is how soon someone reaches out. We try to make reaching out easy enough that people actually do.
Pasadena Clinical Group is a small, multilingual psychology practice in Pasadena, serving the greater Los Angeles area. Weekly therapy groups, individual sessions, couples and family work, and a structured intensive outpatient track.
Most adults who walk into our office are not at the end of their rope. They've just been holding it for too long. Some of them have wondered for months whether their experience was "real enough" to come in. The answer is yes. It almost always is.
We started this practice with a steady premise: that the best mental health care is calm, unhurried, and accessible. That you should be able to get an appointment within the week. That the person you talk to should speak the language your inner life speaks. That insurance should not be a maze.
The clinical work is grounded in evidence — CBT, ACT, EMDR, Gottman-method couples work, and the structured, systems-aware approaches that have decades of research behind them. The texture of the work is human.
You should not have to be in crisis to deserve help. Earlier is almost always easier.— Our working premise
Not a manifesto. Just the four ideas you'll feel from the first session on.

Group therapy is the format with the most evidence behind it for stress, burnout, and isolation. It also costs less. We treat it as the primary modality, not the leftovers.
If your inner life lives in Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Hindi, Italian, Arabic, or Armenian, the care should too. Eight languages are routinely spoken at the practice.
LGBTQ+ affirmative care across every group, every clinician, every session. No carve-outs and no qualifying language.
The greater Los Angeles area is one of the most linguistically diverse places in the country. The practice reflects that. When you call or write, tell us your preferred language and we'll match you to a clinician who speaks it.

— Mei-Lin C., 29, attorney"In my family we don't really talk about therapy. I went anyway, and I didn't tell anyone for two months. Now my mother asks how the group is going. That part I did not see coming."
— Linh N., 42, mother of two"I expected to be talked at. Instead I was listened to. The first session, my clinician asked me one question and waited. Nobody had waited like that for me in years."
— Giovanni R., 56, restaurant owner"I'd never been to therapy before — none of my friends had either. They made it feel ordinary. By the third week I stopped rehearsing my answers in the car on the way over."
— Layla H., 35, teacher"I came in for stress at work. Six months later I'm sleeping through the night, my back pain is gone, and I have actual conversations with my wife at dinner. None of those were on my goal list."
