This Cookie Policy ("Policy") describes how Pasadena Clinical Group ("the Practice," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on this website (the "Site"). It supplements and should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in those documents. By using the Site you agree to the use of cookies as described in this Policy and as configured by your consent choices.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit. Similar technologies include local-storage objects, session-storage objects, pixels (sometimes called web beacons or tags), software development kits, and device fingerprints. Together, these technologies enable the Site to load correctly, remember your preferences, understand usage, and — only with your consent and subject to the controls described below — facilitate analytics or marketing.

Cookies may be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by a service provider acting on our behalf). They may be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a defined retention period).

2. Legal framework

Our use of cookies is governed by, and intended to comply with, applicable laws including:

  • The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA," Cal. Civ. Code §1798.100 et seq.) and its implementing regulations;
  • The California "Shine the Light" law (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83);
  • The federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA," 15 U.S.C. §6501 et seq.);
  • The federal Electronic Communications Privacy Act ("ECPA," 18 U.S.C. §2510 et seq.);
  • HIPAA (45 C.F.R. Parts 160, 162, and 164) for any cookie that may interact with PHI; and
  • Where applicable to non-California residents, comprehensive state privacy laws and, for visitors from the EU/UK, the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR.

3. Categories of cookies we use

We organize cookies into four categories. Strictly Necessary cookies are always on (they cannot be disabled because the Site cannot function without them). The other three categories are off by default for new visitors and load only if you grant consent through the cookie banner or preferences modal.

  • Strictly Necessary. Required for the Site to load and for forms (contact, intake, payment) to work. Examples: a session cookie that maintains your form state, and the cookie that records your cookie-consent choice. Disabling these would break the Site.
  • Performance / Analytics. Help us understand how the Site is used (e.g., which pages are visited, how long, anonymized referrer) so we can improve it. We aggregate this data and configure providers to mask or truncate IP addresses where possible.
  • Functionality. Remember preferences (e.g., language, accessibility settings) across visits, for a more consistent experience.
  • Marketing. Used to deliver relevant ads on other sites and to measure campaign performance. We do not currently load marketing cookies without your explicit opt-in. We do not place advertising cookies that target health-condition pages or that profile users based on health-related browsing.

4. Cookies on this Site (illustrative list)

The list below is illustrative. The exact set of cookies emitted depends on the build and any analytics provider in use; we will update it as the Site evolves.

  • pcg_cookie_consent_v1 — strictly necessary; first-party; remembers your consent choice; max-age 365 days.
  • Session cookie(s) — strictly necessary; first-party; expire when you close the browser.
  • Analytics cookies (only if consented) — set by an analytics service provider under a written contract limiting use; configured to anonymize IP and to disable advertising features where possible.
  • Functionality cookies (only if consented) — first-party; remember UI preferences.
  • Marketing cookies (only if explicitly opted in) — third-party; subject to that provider's privacy notice.

5. Your choices and how to manage them

You can change your cookie choices at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in our footer. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings — most browsers allow you to refuse all cookies, refuse third-party cookies, or delete existing cookies. See aboutcookies.org for browser-specific instructions. Disabling Strictly Necessary cookies will impair the Site's functionality.

6. "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under CCPA/CPRA. We do not "sell" personal information for monetary consideration. We do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising unless you have affirmatively opted in. To exercise your rights at any time, use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the site footer and disable the Marketing category. We honor browser-based Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as opt-out preference signals where applicable.

7. Children

The Site is not directed to children under thirteen (13). Consistent with COPPA and CCPA/CPRA's heightened standard, we do not knowingly load non-essential cookies on devices used by children, and we do not engage in advertising-based profiling of minors.

8. Cookies and PHI

The Site is informational and does not collect, transmit, or process Protected Health Information ("PHI") through cookies for purposes outside HIPAA. We do not place tracking pixels on patient-portal or any session that involves PHI, and our analytics configurations are designed to avoid the transmission of PHI to third parties (consistent with HHS Office for Civil Rights guidance on the use of online tracking technologies in healthcare).

9. International users

If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that cookies may transfer information to the United States. For visitors from the EU/UK, we rely on your consent (where required) and on legitimate interests for strictly necessary cookies, and we honor data-subject-rights requests in accordance with applicable law.

10. Updates to this Policy

If we change the cookies in use or the categories described, we may bump the consent version, which will re-prompt you to confirm your choices. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent revision.

11. Dispute resolution

Disputes arising out of or related to this Policy are resolved as set forth in the Terms & Conditions §13 — mandatory mediation, then binding individual arbitration in Los Angeles County, California, with class-action and jury waivers, except as inconsistent with non-waivable consumer protections.
