Insurance shouldn't be the reason you stop here.
We work with most major Southern California carriers, and we'll verify your benefits with you on the phone — usually in under ten minutes. If your plan isn't listed, call anyway: we may still be in-network through a behavioral-health subcontractor, or we can offer out-of-network superbills and a case-by-case sliding scale.
Plans we work with directly.
This list updates regularly. If your carrier isn't here but you'd like to use insurance, please call — many plans now route mental-health benefits through Magellan, Carelon, or MHN, even when the insurance card says something else.
Out-of-network
If we aren't in your network, we can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) you can submit for reimbursement. Many PPO plans cover 50–80% of the session fee after deductible.
Sliding scale
We hold a small number of sliding-scale slots at any given time. They're allocated case-by-case based on need, not paperwork. If cost is the thing standing between you and starting, please tell us.
Not seeing your insurance?
Call us at (626) 354-6440. We'll verify your benefits with you on the line, often within ten minutes.
About insurance, fees, and benefits.
Do you take Medi-Cal?
We accept Medi-Cal through L.A. Care for many of our services. Some specialty groups may be limited; call to confirm.
What does it cost without insurance?
Self-pay group therapy is generally lower than individual self-pay rates. We provide a Good Faith Estimate before your first session. More on that.
Will my insurance company see my session notes?
No. Insurers receive billing codes and a diagnosis, not session content. Psychotherapy notes have additional protection under California law.
Do you accept HSA / FSA?
Yes. Most clients use HSA/FSA cards directly, or pay and submit for reimbursement.
What if my employer has an EAP?
Many EAPs (Lyra, Spring Health, Modern Health, Concern) cover an initial set of sessions. We can usually accept them. Call so we can verify before your first appointment.
Can I still come in if I don't have insurance?
Yes. We hold a small number of sliding-scale slots and we'll talk through what's workable. Cost should not be the reason you stop here.
